The difference between a movie fan and a film buff

There's an easy way to tell. Movie fans will say that they like certain flicks, will say, "oh, I remember that one!" at parties and such, and leave it at that. Film buffs can answer technical and difficult questions about movies before you can snap your fingers, and that's one way you can tell them apart from your average movie fan. (The Searchers) Be forewarned film buffs will sometimes provide answers that are not only to the point but obsessive; disagree at your own peril. For example: Thoughts on Darren Aronofsky?
